KARACHI: All of the suspects in the attack on a polio team in the Korangi district of the port city one day prior were granted bail by a court magistrate on Saturday.
Six suspects, including four women, were presented by the police to the court today on charges of assaulting the polio workers physically and stealing their cell phones.
However, citing the case’s provisions as bailable, the Karachi East court granted all accused bail in exchange for surety bonds of Rs 10,000 each.
Law enforcement officials claim that the women attacked the polio team in retaliation after the suspects refused to give the children polio drops.
The suspects also tore the police uniforms, the police told the court.
