Authorities released a picture of the suspect while the victims were discovered on Sunday and Monday at three different locations.
Romeo Nance, 23, committed suicide following a fight, according to Joliet police. The 23-year-old was discovered by US Marshals close to Natalia.
Although they claim to be unaware of a motive, investigators have stated that the man was acquainted with the victims.
The victims were discovered on Sunday and Monday in three different locations, some hours after the man was labeled as “armed and dangerous” by the authorities on social media.
On Sunday, one of the deceased was discovered in a Will County house. On Monday, seven more were discovered at two Joliet homes.
Authorities stated they also think the recent spate of violence is related to another shooting in Joliet that left a man injured on Sunday.
“I’ve been a policeman for 29 years, and this is probably the worst crime scene I’ve ever been associated with,” stated Joliet Police Chief William Evans.
