Recent statistics indicate that during the final few days of the holy month of Ramadan, inflation has started to rise once more. In the last week alone, the inflation rate increased by almost 0.96%. The inflation rate has increased to 29.45% annually.
The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics notes that over the course of the previous week, the prices of 16 necessities increased, while those of 13 commodities fell, and 22 stayed unchanged.
Important goods like tomatoes had a notable increase in price of Rs. 11 per kilogramme, but the price of live chicken increased by more than Rs. 13 per kg. Onions also saw a rise of Rs3, while the price of garlic increased by Rs4 per kg. The cost of beef and mutton increased by Rs7 per kilogram as well.Beyond food goods, costs have increased for necessities like rice, branded ghee, gasoline, clothing, and footwear, placing additional pressure on household budgets.
