Tropical Cyclone Alfred is threatening Queensland, and conservationist Robert Irwin is acting to save the animals at Australia Zoo.
The 21-year-old son of Steve Irwin revealed that it was a challenging task to keep all the various creatures safe during his appearance on Channel Ten’s The Project on Friday, March 7.
“It depends on the animals,” he joked. Since crocodiles enjoy cyclones, they pose little threat. However, we make sure that our wombats have enough food, straw, and additional bedding so they have a place to stay.
“We put our giraffes in a very tall barn to ensure their safety, and all of our elephants have a lovely, large, cyclone-proof barn,” Robert continued.
The whole staff at the Australia Zoo had been working, he continued.
