KARACHI: Citing concerns over Armaghan’s mental health, a local court on Saturday denied his request to record his confessional testimony in the Mustafa Amir murder case.
After Armaghan apparently wavered between admitting and declining to make a statement in the court of judicial magistrate (South), the judge decided to deny his appeal for a statement under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
The suspect first consented to confess to the crime at the hearing. The court began to doubt his mental soundness after he later withdrew his statement.
“The accused is not in a stable condition as to record his confession,” the court said in its ruling.
