Omar Ayub, the senior leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has flatly denied any agreement to free Bushra Bibi, the wife of party founder Imran Khan.
Speaking to reporters in Sargodha on Friday, Ayub, who is also the National Assembly’s Leader of the Opposition, declared: “Bushra Bibi’s release is not part of any deal.”
He claimed that “now she is in a safe place” after Imran’s wife was wrongfully imprisoned. The Toshakhana case against the PTI founder was likewise untrue, he continued.
The politician’s remarks were made the day after Bushra, who had been imprisoned for about nine months in the Adiala jail in a different Toshakhana-2 case brought by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), was released.
