MUMBAI: According to a senior federal minister, a blast at an ordnance factory in the western Indian state of Maharashtra on Friday claimed at least eight lives and injured seven more.
According to local media, the business, which produces propellants and explosives, is situated in the state’s Bhandara region, around 830 kilometers (515 miles) from Mumbai, India’s financial center.
“A large explosion occurred in the Bhandara ordnance factory. At a ceremony in Nagpur city, Maharashtra-born Federal Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari stated, “Preliminary reports indicate that eight people have died and seven have been injured.”
