KARACHI: As the effects of shifting weather conditions on public health worsen, hospitals throughout the city are seeing an increase in patients with respiratory ailments.
According to the emergency coordinator at Dr. Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital, more than 150 patients with respiratory conditions come in every day. According to a hospital health official, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center is also seeing more than 150 respiratory patients every day.
According to medical professionals, the rise in respiratory illnesses disproportionately affected youngsters. A lot of patients are coming in complaining of a chronic cough, illness, and sore throat.
Experts in medicine caution that the current weather is making asthma symptoms worse.
