Tuchel informed Gibbs-White of Nottingham Forest that he will not be included in England’s first 2026 World Cup qualifying match.
However, Tuchel phoned Gibbs-White when Chelsea’s Cole Palmer sustained an injury on Sunday, and he was ultimately called up for the matches against Latvia and Albania.
“Are you still angry with me, or would you like to come train with us tomorrow?” Gibbs-White stated over the phone, according to news Radio 5 Live.
“That was not a question. I had a big smile on my face. I’m thrilled.”
That stands in sharp contrast to Gibbs-White’s first feelings when the 25-year-old was left out.
