The Legend of Maula Jatt, a Pakistani megahit film starring Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan, will not be screening in India.
This occurred after officials in Delhi refused to grant clearance for the film’s release. According to the BBC, the movie was supposed to be released in Punjab on October 2.
Nadeem Mandviwalla, the film’s distributor, informed the Press Trust of India (PTI) that a ministry had petitioned an Indian court to impose a delay on the film’s release.
The Indian Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has not provided a clear explanation for their denial of authorization.
This would have been the first Pakistani film to be released in India in over ten years.
The 1979 Punjabi film “Legend of Maula Jatt” is a remake.
