KUALA LAMPUR: At the Bayuemas Oval on Sunday, India defeated Bangladesh by 41 runs to win the first-ever ACC U19 Women’s T20 Asia Cup.
With a brilliantly constructed half-century to lead the innings, opening batsman Gongadi Trisha was instrumental in India’s decisive triumph.
After being given the opportunity to bat first, India amassed a respectable 117/7 in the 20 overs they were given, with Trisha spearheading the effort.
The right-handed opener steadied the ship after a difficult start at 25/2, scoring 52 runs off 47 balls, including two sixes and five fours. The squad advanced thanks to her vital 41-run combination with captain Niki Prasad, who added 12 runs.
