The first-ever analog mission from the Indian space agency Isro that enables astronauts to experience space conditions before genuine flights is called Habitat-1.
Recently, the Himalayan mountain range of Ladakh hosted a three-week test of Hab-1, short for Habitat-1.
Before humans and equipment are sent into space for missions, these simulations help find and fix problems that may arise, according to space architect Aastha Kacha-Jhala, who spoke to the news.
Space-grade Teflon and industrial-use foam are used to construct the Hab-1’s egg-shaped construction. In addition, it features a bed, a kitchenette for cooking, a bathroom, a storage area, and a stowaway tray that doubles as a workspace.
Three weeks were spent in simulation by an astronaut.
