The rivalry between Elon Musk’s Starlink and fellow billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio has intensified as the two companies have partnered to deliver Starlink’s internet services to the most populous country in the world.
The agreement, which is contingent on Starlink receiving government license to start operations in India, will enable the US satellite internet behemoth to use Airtel’s network of retail stores to distribute its equipment across the nation.
Although it did not give specifics, Airtel stated on Tuesday that the businesses will consider utilizing one another’s network infrastructure to improve coverage. Additionally, Airtel would look at providing Starlink services to its commercial and other clients.
Weeks after Elon Musk and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met in Washington, they discussed the Starlink announcement.
