Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Irfan Ali provided information regarding the state of the dams and rivers following record rains, stating: “The water flow in all the rivers and barrages of Punjab is at normal level.”
Tarbela has 77 percent of its water level, compared to 60 percent at Mangala Dam.
Up to 39% of the water is in the Indian dams on the Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi. According to PDMA DG, all preparations are finished because vulnerable districts face a risk of flooding.
The PDMA director general stated, “There is a possibility of flooding in the Indus River bordering mountains and the River Chenab from August 1 to 4.
The situation is continuously monitored by the District Emergency Operation Centers and the PDMA Control Room. Three citizens lost their lives in the past twelve hours.
