Due to a “ongoing injury” that has ended the 24-time Grand Slam champion’s season, Novak Djokovic announced on Tuesday that he will not be defending his ATP Finals title.
Tennis legend Djokovic stated on social media that he will not be attempting to win the Finals for the third consecutive year, despite being one of four players still vying for one of the three spots available at the season-ending tournament in Turin, which begins on Sunday.
Djokovic stated, “I was really looking forward to being there, but I won’t be playing next week due to an ongoing injury.”
“I apologize to everyone who was expecting to see me. I hope the event is fantastic for every player. See you shortly!
