A retired teacher’s widow believes she might have heard him calling to her before he perished in the flooded river Conwy.
On November 23, during Storm Bert, 75-year-old Brian Perry was reported missing after going for a walk with his collie dog in the village of Trefriw, close to Llanrwst, Conwy. This prompted a multi-agency search.
Senior coroner John Gittins for North Wales East and Central said he had been told by North Wales Police that Mr. Perry and his wife Catherine, of Porset Drive, Caerphilly, set off together at the start of an inquest in Ruthin, Denbighshire.
After that, he continued by himself with the dog, but the inquest heard that he was wearing waterproof clothes and was familiar with the region.
