ISLAMABAD Sajjad Mustafa Syed, chairman of the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA), emphasized the operational and financial costs to the nation’s fastest-growing industry and called for quick action to guarantee continuous connectivity and solve structural issues.
With the statement, “An hour of internet disruption costs the IT industry $910,000,” Syed emphasized the serious financial consequences of internet failures.
He went on to say that in the current environment, 99% of IT organizations have encountered disruptions that have hindered their growth and productivity.
He disclosed that P@SHA spoke with the Ministry of IT regarding these disruptions. To handle complaints from the IT sector, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) set up a special cell.
Internet issues were fixed in a matter of hours after P@SHA brought up the matter, Syed said, adding that PTA was still upgrading the infrastructure.
