Ireland defeated Zimbabwe by 56 runs on Monday to make it two victories out of two in the Twenty20 World Cup qualifier held in Abu Dhabi.
With their opening partnership of 130 off 14.2 overs, Amy Hunter (71) and Gaby Lewis (69) shined at the bat, laying the groundwork for their team’s total of 176-3.
In response, Zimbabwe could muster only 120-8 off 20 overs, with captain Mary-Anne Musonda top-scoring with 48.
With scores of 2-13, Ava Canning emerged as the standout bowler for Ireland, followed by Laura Delany and Cara Murray, who each claimed two wickets.
In their first match of the week, Ireland defeated the United Arab Emirates by a margin of six wickets.
