Senator Irfan Siddiqui of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday for its intentions to start a new agitation movement against the current administration, claiming that the former ruling party was heading toward a period of violent protests.
The government’s negotiation team spokeswoman, Siddiqui, wrote on X, “PTI has rejected Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s offer after unilaterally withdrawing from the negotiation process…” now they are moving towards violent protests.”
In order to diffuse political tensions, the government’s negotiation team worked with the former ruling party, but he noted that it is now essentially “nonfunctional and ineffective.”
