Prince Abdul Mateen and Anisha Rosnah Isa Kalebic gave the world a “wedding of the decade” and may now begin their married life together after a ten-day celebration.
The celebrations were lavish, combining secular public events with both customary and sacred rituals. The preceding Sunday began with the reading of the Katam Quran, a special interpretation of the Quran.
The designer Teh Firdaus shared a photo of Anisha’s first bridal ensemble there along with the caption, “It’s an honor to be involved in the royal wedding in Brunei.”When Yang Mulia Dayang Anisha Rosnah Adam Isa Kalebic wears our specially designed baju kurung made of finely woven tenunan Brunei, she exudes elegance during her Khatam Quran ceremony.
The pair came at the ceremony separately, with Abdul Mateen arriving first. His entrance was heralded by a salute of seventeen guns, and forty spear-bearers led the way. Before anybody else, Anisha Rosnhah arrived and received the same blessings from the Sultan and his wife.
For the event, the couple dressed in matching crimson gowns that were lavish and clearly exquisitely crafted and embroidered.
After the vows on Thursday, Bruneians and fans of the royal family across the world looked forward to Sunday, when the festivities reached their zenith.
The “bersanding,” or the couple’s first official public acknowledgment as husband and wife, caused joy and celebrations that ended with a march through Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei.
