The administration announced that all of Islamabad’s educational institutions would be closed on Tuesday, or tomorrow, due to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf demonstrations in the nation’s capital.
According to the deputy commissioner, the decision was made to protect staff and students during the disturbances.
In order to ensure peace and order amid the PTI protest, educational institutions were also shuttered in the twin cities today (Monday).
With a sizable police presence in the city to maintain peace, the PTI demonstrators made their way into the federal capital on Tuesday night.
Highways leading into the city have been blocked, and authorities have imposed a security lockdown for the past two days in an attempt to stop the demonstrators, who Khan has called on to march on parliament for a sit-in rally.
