RAWALPINDI: Imran Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi, and other prominent leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were arrested on Friday in connection with a “triple murder case” involving three Rangers members who perished during the opposition party’s “do-or-die” demonstration last month.
The event happened in line with a “plan orchestrated at Adiala Jail”—where former premier Imran Khan is detained for more than a year—according to a first information report (FIR) filed at Islamabad’s Ramna Police Station.
It also stated that “some inmates and employees of the jail’s undercover police are witnesses of the plan” and that the paramilitary troops were martyred “at the behest of the PTI founder.”
