ISLAMABAD: The federal government has sent the army to the capital amid rising protests by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Article 245 was invoked by the Interior Ministry in a notification, enabling the military to help keep the peace and deal harshly with the miscreants. In order to prevent lawlessness, the army is also authorized by the notification to enforce curfews wherever needed.
Security personnel have also been authorized to shoot miscreants and troublemakers on sight, according to sources.
They claimed that all required steps are being taken to stop extremist and disruptive individuals from engaging in terrorist actions. To bring the criminals to justice, all of them are also being recognized.
Following a terrible incident on the Srinagar Highway in which PTI miscreants allegedly crashed a car into Rangers officers, the decision was made.
