The last major hospital in northern Gaza was forcibly evacuated by Israeli forces, who then arrested and questioned medical personnel, according to the health ministry operated by Hamas.
Among those detained for interrogation by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) was Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, the head of Kamal Adwan Hospital, who was suspected of “being a Hamas terrorist operative” without offering any supporting documentation.
According to the health ministry, Israeli airstrikes targeting the area around the hospital killed an estimated 50 people on Friday, including medical personnel.
The IDF claimed that the facility was a “Hamas terrorist stronghold” and that it had conducted an operation there.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 15 critically ill patients, 50 caregivers, and 20 medical personnel were sent to a nearby Indonesian hospital.
