If Hamas “does not return our hostages by Saturday noon,” Israel’s prime minister has threatened to halt the ceasefire in Gaza and resume fierce combat.
Benjamin Netanyahu claimed that after Hamas announced it was delaying the release of more hostages until further notice, he had directed Israeli forces to gather within and outside of Gaza.
It was unclear if Netanyahu was calling for the release of the three hostages who were set to be released this Saturday or the 76 hostages who were still in captivity.
Hamas announced on Monday that it would postpone their release because Israel had broken the truce agreement, which had been in effect for three weeks, by obstructing essential humanitarian deliveries. Israel has refuted this accusation.
