Three days into a ceasefire following almost a year of combat with the Shia militant group Hezbollah, the Israeli military has issued a warning to Lebanese people not to return to 60 communities in the country’s south.
According to a map released by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), people are not allowed to return to a large area that is several kilometers deep. It stated that anyone who did so would be endangering themselves.
The war has forced over a million Lebanese, primarily from the south, to flee their homes. Additionally, tens of thousands of Israelis have been forced to relocate.
Although officials in Israel and Lebanon have accused one another of violating the truce previously, it went into effect Wednesday morning.
