LONDON: The prime minister’s office announced on Thursday that Oxford Union President Israr Khan Kakar has been named Pakistan’s ambassador-at-large for Youth Empowerment, which is a noteworthy appointment.
Kakar, a distinguished Oxford University student from Balochistan who recently made history by becoming the first person from the province and the fourth Pakistani ever to win the coveted Oxford Union Presidency, was appointed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who expressed his joy in the appointment.
A diplomat of the highest caliber who represents a nation and its citizens abroad in a variety of jurisdictions is known as an ambassador-at-large.
Kakar is from a small village in Balochistan’s Killa Abdullah area, which is close to the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
