With $1.2 billion in exports in the first four months of the current fiscal year—a 34% increase over the same period last year—Pakistan’s IT sector has reached a noteworthy milestone.
State Bank statistics indicates that IT exports increased by 13% from September to $330 million in October. Over the last 12 months, the digital services industry has performed steadily, averaging $290 million in exports per month.
Alongside the increase in exports, Pakistani IT firms have been growing their clientele internationally. This growth trajectory has been made possible in large part by the efforts of the Pakistan Software Export Board and the Ministry of IT.
According to economic observers, the technology sector’s export performance will continue to improve throughout the fiscal year.
