The 34-year-old actor’s portrayal of River Cartwright in the TV series Slow Horses has earned him an Emmy nomination. He has been hammering the pavement since the first episode of season four.
However, it dates back far further. Jack Lowden performed as Eric Liddell in the stage adaptation of Chariots of Fire in 2012. He put in many hours honing Liddell’s unusual sprinting technique for his West End roles.
He concurs that “running seems to be literally a running theme.”

His knees will get a little respite from his most recent job. David Ireland portrays Luka, a young man who is fresh to Alcoholics Anonymous, in his new drama, The Fifth Step. Sean Gilder, his co-star in Slow Horses, portrays an elderly guy who assists him in understanding the software.
He claims that David Ireland is “one of the best playwrights working in the UK,” which is why he was lured to the project.
