Security sources reported that the majority of people taken hostage were released on Wednesday, marking the end of the hostage rescue operation to free the passengers of the Jaffer Express in the Bolan province of Balochistan.
The train was traveling from Quetta to Peshawar for around three hundred hours when militants detonated a railway track, started shooting, and took control of the train.
Numerous hostages, including women and children, have been freed by authorities, according to security sources. The militants were using the rescued civilians as human shields.
Because innocent lives were at stake, the security forces used extreme caution throughout the operation.
Sources stated that all terrorists present at the location are being consulted over the number of passengers who accepted martyrdom.
