Sharif Masih, an employee of the Punjab Wildlife Department, has been disciplined severely for willfully opening a lion’s cage at Jallo Park.
It has been decided to bring a terrorism case against Masih, who has been placed under arrest.
A Punjab Wildlife Department spokesman said that Sharif Masih purposefully broke down the lion’s cage so the animal could get out.
The staff members on duty responded quickly to the lion’s escape, tranquilizing it and securely putting it back in its cage. To make sure the lion could be safely returned, an injection was given.
The government has established a three-person commission in reaction to the event, which includes the director of the Lahore Zoo, the deputy director of wildlife in Lahore, and a safari veterinarian.
