David Corenswet’s portrayal of Superman in James Gunn’s film sparked an online discussion about whether or not the character’s iconic red trunks should be kept.
During Henry Cavill’s tenure as Superman, Zack Snyder abandoned the trunks, and David was seen wearing them in photos that were leaked from the set.
Gunn told Gizmodo that he believed it was obvious to get rid of the pointless trunks, but David persuaded him differently.
Gunn stated, “We screened tested with trunks and without trunks, and we were trying on all these different versions.” David also mentioned that Superman wants children to not be scared of him. He is not from Earth. He possesses these amazing abilities.
