Before Opening Day, the baseball world was immersed in the Shohei Ohtani gambling scandal involving the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Ohtani had stated that Ippei Mizuhara, his former interpreter, had openly assisted him in paying off gambling debts, but Mizuhara had countered that Ohtani had taken money from his bank accounts to gamble. Ohtani said the interpreter was stealing money and lying, while Mizuhara said he had lied in his initial interview.
World Series winner Johnny Damon made an appearance on OutKick’s “Don’t @ Me with Dan Dakich,” where he expressed his opinion that it was peculiar that Ohtani didn’t detect the significant amount that had been taken out of his accounts at first.
Surely, he would notice that you had $4.5 million taken from you. He’s just too huge, in my opinion.
