One unexpected name has entered the GOAT discussion thanks to Johnny Manziel.
Given his seven Super Bowl victories and countless records, it’s safe to assume that the majority of NFL fans wouldn’t hesitate to select Tom Brady from the short list of contenders.
Patrick Mahomes, along with possibly Joe Montana, is on the list due to his raw skill and three titles at the age of 28.
When questioned on Wednesday about the greatest quarterbacks in history, Manziel—whom some believe to be the greatest college football player of all time—went completely outside the box.
He said, “The GOAT in my eyes is probably still, man, I have a different opinion, I love Michael Vick,” on “Run It” on FanDuel TV.
Vick lived up to the hype following his first-round selection by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2001 NFL Draft, winning three Pro Bowls and placing second and fourth in the MVP voting his first six NFL seasons.
He did, however, miss two years because he was incarcerated for his involvement in an illegal dogfighting enterprise. However, he won the Comeback Player of the Year award, placed second in the Offensive Player of the Year voting, and was selected to the Pro Bowl for the fourth time after he once again earned a starting position with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2010.
