Joining a South African delegation for this week’s proceedings at the International Court of Justice, which is accusing Israel of committing genocide against Palestinians during the Gaza War, is former UK opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn. Over two days of preliminary hearings starting on Thursday at The Hague in the Netherlands, Corbyn is among a number of “senior political figures from progressive political parties and movements across the globe” who will accompany the South African delegation. Within its delegation, Corbyn was the only foreign politician appointed by the South African administration. He has long been an outspoken opponent of Israel and a supporter of the Palestinian cause.
