Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif advised President Asif Ali Zardari to call a joint session of parliament on December 17 amid the ongoing consultation between the coalition government and the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) over the controversial madrassa registration bill, according to parliamentary sources who spoke to News.
According to the sources, the president has been urged by the premier to call a joint session of parliament on Tuesday at 11 a.m., and it is anticipated that eight legislation, including the controversial madrassa registration bill, will be presented.
Additionally, they stated that when President Zardari “raised eight objections” to the previous law, the Societies Registration (Amendment) Bill 2024, a consultation process between the government and the party led by Maulana Fazlur Rehman on a new bill was in progress.
