Jonathan Majors got into deep water during a recent interview when he brought up the name of Coretta Scott King, the wife of civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. The Marvel star has now responded to the criticism.
The Creed star shared the remark with TMZ and justified its use, stating, “My intention was to convey my utmost respect for Coretta Scott King, her achievements, and both her personal legacy and the one she shares with her husband, Dr. Martin Luther King.”
The 34-year-old revealed his silence over the outcome of the domestic violence case, and this clarification follows.
The California native discussed his viral audio tape, which was included in the trial case, in the interview.when he was caught telling his ex-flame Grace Jabari to be more like Michelle Obama or Coretta Scott King.
The daughter of the activist couple was nevertheless offended by Jonathan’s remarks.
“My mother wasn’t a prop,” Bernice King said in response to X, sharing her scathing response and including a picture of the late author.
Before she met my father, she was a peace activist, and it was thanks to her that he spoke out against the Vietnam War. I hope you can see that my mother was a powerful woman,” she said.
