Senior Civil Judge Inamullah’s contentious decision to postpone the destruction of the Monal Restaurant, which the Supreme Court had ordered due to illegal construction, has resulted in the suspension of the judge by the Islamabad High Court.
Judge Inamullah was suspended by IHC Chief Justice Aamir Farooq, who also appointed him an OSD and ordered him to report to the high court right away. Additionally, an investigation into the judge has been started, and Sessions Judge Kamran Basharat Mufti has been named as the investigating officer.
Earlier, the Supreme Court withdrew its contempt order against the proprietor of the restaurant and forwarded the case involving Judge Inamullah’s suspension to the Islamabad High Court for additional consideration.
