The Accountability Court judge who condemned former Prime Minister Imran Khan in the £190 million case, Judge Nasir Javaid Rana, has been moved.
The transfer was ordered by Chief Justice Amir Farooq of the Islamabad High Court, and the Registrar of the Islamabad High Court issued a notification.
Judge Rana, who oversaw the case against Imran Khan and his spouse Bushra Bibi, has been promoted to the role of District and Sessions Judge, Islamabad West, from the Accountability Court.
On allegations of corruption and power abuse, he had given Bushra Bibi a seven-year sentence and Imran Khan a fourteen-year sentence. Additionally, the court fined Bibi Rs 500,000 and Khan Rs 1 million.
