ISLAMABAD: Rather than creating a distinct court to hear constitutional cases, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) recommended on Saturday that the government form a constitutional bench.
This was suggested by the JUI-F at a meeting of the special parliamentary committee that was established to talk about the controversial constitutional proposal. PTI senior leader Asad Qaiser and JUI-F chairman Maulana Fazlur Rehman participated in the important meeting virtually, however Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari was not there.
With the intention of coming to an agreement with the PPP on a collaborative document, JUI-F Senator Kamran Murtaza stated that the two parties’ ideas differed only in terms of the constitutional bench and court. He noted that other from that, his party was fine with the PPP’s plan as it was written.
