The ad drew harsh criticism.
“In the one place in America where women still have a right to choose, you can vote any way you want, and no one will ever know,” Roberts asserts.
When the two women in the advertisement reach their husbands after casting their votes for Harris-Walz, one of them asks, “Did you make the right choice?” In response, his wife says, “Sure did, honey.”
“Remember, what happens in the booth, stays in the booth,” Roberts says at the end. “Vote Harris-Walz.”
The voiceover for this is provided by Julia Roberts.
Professor Denny Burk of Boyce College posted on X. The main idea is that you can exercise your freedom to choose Harris-Walz in order to retaliate against guys like your husband who have taken away your ability to choose abortion.
Black men’s love lives are the focus of the new “insulting” Harris advertisement.
In response to Burk’s article, columnist and author Caryn Sullivan said, “Don’t be that woman.”
