ISLAMABAD In addition to allocating at least five Supreme Court judges to the constitutional bench, a conference led by Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan on Monday decided to color code matters that obviously fall outside the scope of Article 191A of the Constitution.
By a majority vote of seven to five on November 5, the JCP named Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan, the fourth-most senior Supreme Court judge, as the head of the seven-judge constitutional bench. Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi was one of the members who dissented.
All four provinces are represented on the seven-judge constitutional bench: Punjab’s Justice Khan and Justice Ayesha Malik, Balochistan’s Justices Jamal Khan Mandokhail and Naeem Akhtar Afghan, and Hassan Azhar Rizvi and Muhammad Ali Mazhar.
