According to reports, Justice Babar Sattar of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) intends to take yet another extended leave, possibly starting on November 4.
He is listed as available next week on the IHC duty roster, but according to insiders, he will return to work on October 30 and work until November 1 before taking a fifteen-day leave.
These events take place in the midst of Justice Sattar’s continuous scandals. According to sources, he took his vacation in part because he was unhappy with some constitutional modifications pertaining to the judiciary. He was one of six judges who sent a letter to the Supreme Judicial Council earlier this year, outlining claims of harassment by intelligence officers.
Additionally, Justice Sattar is overseeing a well-known case involving audio leaks that has exposed the existence of a widespread surveillance system called the “National Intelligence Management System,”.
