ISLAMABAD Justice Mansoor Ali Shah stated in a letter to Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa that he would not be a member of the special bench established by the committee established under the SC (Practice and Procedure Act), 2023, for the purpose of allocating cases.
He objected, stating that he was unable to join the bench for the same reasons he had stated in his letter to the committee secretary on September 23.
The Supreme Court (Practice and Procedure Act), 2023, which addresses matters pertaining to the highest court, including bench formation, was the subject of the senior puisne judge’s earlier letter.
Promulgated in September of this year, the ordinance gives the chief justice the authority to designate a judge for the committee of his choosing.
