After the jurist questioned the legitimacy of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP), Defense Minister Khawaja Asif stated that Senior Puisne Judge Mansoor Ali Shah’s “selective sense of justice” was unworthy of his position.
A day prior, Justice Mansoor had written to Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi, requesting that the entire court be called to order the registrar to schedule hearings for the pending applications contesting the 26th Amendment.
The chief judge was informed by judge Mansoor that the current commission has undergone a reorganization in accordance with the 26th Amendment.
He stated that several petitioners from various societal groups had contested the constitutionality of the aforementioned constitutional amendment at the Supreme Court.
