Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui, a former judge of the Islamabad High Court, gave a stern speech to the Faisalabad legal community, pointing out the historical oppression of Pakistan’s institutions and the current threats to judicial independence.
Addressing an assembly of attorneys, Siddiqui considered Pakistan’s pre-independence history, noting that the army, executive branch, and judiciary were all governed by the British until August 14, 1947. He said that these organizations had no interest in or involvement in the creation of Pakistan, despite the fact that they play a crucial role in the nation today.
Siddiqui attacked two important “institutions” for controlling the government of the nation. Pakistan has been governed by the PMA Kakul and Aitchison College, Lahore.
