Karachi: The electrical distribution company K-Electric was ordered by a court to compensate the family of a small kid who died from electrocution over six years ago with Rs4.8 million.
Ambreen Jamal, a senior civil judge in East Karachi, rendered the decision in the case concerning the 2017 death of 8-year-old Azhan Siddiqui from electrocution during rainy conditions.
On Tuesday, Judge Ambreen handed the verdict against K-Electric. Before the court, the petitioner’s attorney contended that KE had neglected to install guard wires.
The victim’s parents, who filed the lawsuit, claimed that the energy supply company was responsible for the losses due to its criminal negligence, inadequate maintenance, and absence of safety precautions. The Fatal Accidents Act was used to file the action.
According to the attorney, the court upheld their petition for reimbursement.
