After decades of work, K-Electric has successfully built Karachi’s first 500 kV grid station, making history.
The Karachi Nuclear Power Plant (KANUPP) will be able to serve the city with electricity at a lower cost thanks to this new infrastructure.
After only 22 months of construction, the KKI grid station improves energy security for the southern areas of Pakistan and local industry by acting as a vital transmission connection between K-Electric’s network and the National Grid.
K-Electric’s CEO, Moonis Alvi, expressed gratitude for the cooperation of several parties, including NEPRA, the Government of Sindh, the Government of Pakistan, and others.
“With this grid station, it will be possible to supply affordable electricity to the city,” he said, underscoring the significance of the project.
