KARACHI: There seems to be some relief in Karachi after weeks of oppressive heat, as the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasted high winds and gloomy skies for the next ten days in the port city on Thursday.
According to a weather department official, thunderstorms are predicted in a number of Sindhi cities between June 7 and June 10.
Because of the strong sea breeze that is sweeping through the city, Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz claimed that the weather in Karachi is changing. “For the next ten days, there would be intermittent cloud cover and wind in the city.”
He stated that there was a risk of a heatwave in upper and central Sindh starting next week. “Rain with thunderstorms is expected in (parts of) Sindh between June 7 and June 10,” he said.
After many days of intense heat, the sea wind has returned, bringing much-needed relief to the people of Karachi.
The heat wave has been broken in the higher regions of the nation, including several cities in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, by rain.
