In the meantime, the quality of the air in Karachi has significantly declined. According to the Air Quality Index, the city is currently the eighth most polluted city in Pakistan and the twentieth most polluted worldwide. Public health is at risk due to this decline in air quality, particularly for vulnerable groups.
In order to protect themselves from the heat and pollution, authorities advise locals to stay hydrated and stay indoors during peak hours.
